Names are very important to Chinese. When I say important it is super duper important because we believed that names can either bring good luck or bad luck. That why we always think of auspicious names for the things in our lives.
It it no different for food. We call this food Sweet and Sour Phoenix Meat because pineapple may be called "Feng Li" in chinese language. So, we prefer to call it Pheonix Meat as it sounds more majestic and grand. Don't you think so?
